4 months

Crew is 4 months old!
1 year ago today I found out I was having a baby and I don't think I've stopped smiling since!
(it also happens to be my parents 32nd wedding anniversary)

Stats
Weight: 13 lbs. 4 oz. - 35%
Height: 26 and 1/4 inches - 96%
Head: 15 and 1/2 inches - 7%

Even though he gets a bit neglected in the morning by his dad (see "sleeping on the job" post), it doesn't seem to effect how much he loves him...

Brent is trying to start his sports education a little early. It's pretty entertaining. Crew has actually taken a liking to it and it has been a HUGE distraction while I'm trying to feed him.

I am obsessed with his sweet face and love using him as my subject when playing with my new camera.

He has learned how to roll from his back to his front and thinks it's funny to pull a switch-a-roo on me when I leave the room for a minute.

He enjoys his books, especially when his dad does the voices...

He has started to like playing airplane.

He has gotten big enough to ride in his stroller without his carseat in it.

We have started putting him to bed at night fully awake and letting him fall asleep on his own, he took to it almost immediately. But he's still our little buddy and likes to conk on my shoulder and in his dads arms from time to time for naps.

Mostly I cannot get over how perfect he is. I marvel every day and thank my Heavenly Father that all of his organs work in perfect harmony, that he is happy, healthy and that I get to be trusted with his care.

I also think I'm pretty lucky that I get to kiss those lips!

He is such a miracle.

(I love you in sign language)

Pumpkin Patch

Even though Crew is too young to even know what's going on, I decided that it's time to start some traditions...

So we went to the pumpkin patch! (mostly for the pictures)

They had some fun stuff, like this giant ruler (he's 25 inches)...

and some HUGE pumpkins...

and even a sign that made us feel like we were back in Utah!

Crew enjoyed some time in the sun...

and we all enjoyed just some time as a family...

Happy Fall!

peek-a-BOO

halloween!

It's Crew's first holiday
(and I know because Brent and I had an in-depth conversation this morning on what constituted a "holiday")!

We've had a lot of fun all month putting Crew in Halloween jammies and pretending to be scared of him...

Crew's nana made him this awesome football costume (thanks mom).

We had one very important door to trick-or-treat at and that was to Crew's Great Grandma Porter's house (Brent's grandma). Crew gave her his undivided attention and just stared at her like he had been missing her smiling face for the past 87 years.

These 2 photos need no explanation...

I even got a little crafty this year...

Happy Halloween!

sleeping on the job

I have started leaving Crew with his dad when I go for my morning run because it's just too cold now for him to be out in the jogger. I often come home to find this:

Keep in mind, Crew wakes up at 8 and I feed him, so I'm not going running until around 8:30... which apparently is just too early!

I feel sorry for Crew, but he doesn't seem to mind too much...

October FHE

Terin hosted our first FHE without Pops and Ann. We had a pumpkin carving contest (based on speed, not appearance) - for photos, see Tiffany's blog.

Then we headed to Cody's basketball game and all of the Krum High alumni (Andrus boys) watched as he beat their old team.

Crew bonded with his Uncle Brock.

Of course after the game... well, let's just say that you can't get all the boys together, have a ball within arms reach and expect them NOT to play...

They had a good time getting sweaty and freely fouling each other.

Can't wait for next month...

old friends, good times

Tyson and Lindsey, our good friends from Utah, came to visit us for the weekend!

I met Tyson because he was my neighbor's cousin and Brent knew him because he served his mission out here in Fort Worth. We ended up in the same married ward as newlyweds and have been best buds ever since.

Tyson insisted Lindsey see the Stockyards since it was her first time in Texas.

We had the best time just walking around Old Fort Worth.

Crew loved looking at everything, he's so curious!

I enjoyed playing with my new camera...

Lindsey got put in jail for being too cute and skinny!

We expirienced true Texas culture (it's unfortunate how little I enjoy my surroundings unless there is company in town)...

Crew gave us all a sugar rush from being so sweet!

The whole expirience wore my little guy out (he really loves his sleep).
We stayed up way too late playing Spades and catching up on life. It's so nice to have friends who you haven't seen in years (or even been very good at keeping in touch with) and when you see each other you just pick right back up where you left off like nothing ever changed.
